It sounds like the bering sea can be a little bit more fickle and wind swell? I'll look into the Nikolski thing, I emailed the Adventure lodge place to see if they have any photos or references, and also I'm thinking there could be a wave on Akutan facing the pacific, not far from town. Thanks for the info, it's been a great help!
