Hi! Thanks for advice:

Good luck!
So.. that means I probably cannot backdate to march 16 to use the old "mile" system then. Too bad..

BTW, how good is a Gold status? Well, having buz check-in line is good but DTW's AA counter is not busy when I fly (ususally in the morning). What I really want is better in flight and boarding service such as better seat, upgrades or meal selection. Does "gold" help? (I means in transpacific "flag-ship" coach class)

Also, I always see people mentioning 24hr confirm upgrade for gold and 72 hour confirm upgrade for plat. Does this means you use the "500-mile upgrade" sticker? Or just you phone in and say "upgrade"? Can elite get upgrade in transpacific without using miles?

(Sorry, sounds I am so greedy but even a coach ticket is expensive for a poor architecture student like me)

Thanks all and happy flying.
