Never tip as a principle

I would never tip in a place where service charge is added to the final bill. This applies to all Aman in Asia.

Tipping is an American obsession and we Europeans should not follow this.

It is up to the owners of any property to assure that their staff are correctly paid for their work and good service is part of what you pay for and can expect at any hotel.

P.S. : I agree that in the case of a very personal guide like in Bhutan some tipping may be appropriate. I gave USD 15O to be shared between the guide and the driver.
