Spot of bother in Bangkok!!! (Update: reservation cancelled; now reinstated)

I was wondering if anyone more learned in the ways of the hotel industry could advise me. Around November time I booked a 3 night stay at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok for this coming April as part of our honeymoon. I booked it through trailfinders as they were offering a good deal and I also e-mailed the hotel to add the stay to my corporate spg account.
Everything was looking dandy until yesterday when I received a generic e-mail from starwood along the lines of:

"We’re sorry to hear you won’t be joining us. At your request, we’ve cancelled Sheraton Reservation #97643534 etc"

Now as I hadn't cancelled anything myself nor had my other half, I started to worry and phoned up Sheraton central reservations. They said that yes it had definitely been cancelled by someone called blah blah (not me)!
I then got on to trailfinders first thing this morning and told them what had happened and they said it definitely hadn't been cancelled and that on their system they had me booked in but that actually the hotel might not know my name yet and may have confused me with someone else with a similar name etc, etc.
Not feeling entirely reassured I called the hotel directly and they said, yes it was cancelled yesterday by blah blah .
Phoned up trailfinders again and they did a good job of saying that there was nothing to worry about and that just before leaving for Thailand I will be sent a voucher and with that in hand there is no way the hotel will turn me away. Felt slightly more reassured but still it seems strange that my booking would be randomly cancelled. Also if they didn't know my name then how could they add they stay with my partner's name also down, on to my SPG account as that account only has my name on it so they must have got the info from elsewhere.

Anyway any advice would be much appreciated!!! My nightmare scenario is being turned away on my honeymoon!!!
