It reads: Passengers traveling on the same reservation as an Elite passenger are exempt from base fees for their first two checked bags. If a reservation is split to allow for thet upgrade of the elite passenger the companions on the split ticket are still eligible for the free baggage allowance. If the CSR challenges this the details can be reviewed in the DRS by reading the section GG BAG 2ND.

Yes, I know all of that.

But you originally said:

1. Do friends of Golds/Plats get 3 x 70 lb luggage allowance?

A: No, they get a 2 x 50 lb luggage allowance. I have found some agents
allow 'more' than 50 lb, since I (the Gold/Plat) am flying, but the rule is 50
lb. You must be flying with them (but need not be on the same PNR).

"Flying with friends" is quite different (and more broadly defined) than companions on the same actual PNR or original PNR (after splitting). When you said "you must be flying with them", you DIDN'T mean that they are merely on the same flight, but rather that they have to have been on the original booking with you. Right?
