Agreed, but sometimes that one time is enough to stop you from considering that airline ever again unless you're flying to an isolated location where few airlines are serving.

Just like I took China Eastern from Shanghai to LAX in 2008. The plane is ok, ground staff are ok but its the passengers that are terribly noisy through the entire 14 hours flight. So I'm basically staying off all Chinese airlines as well.

Think I'll like to go back to SQ and other reliable Star Alliance airline (except TK) from now onwards. No guts to try another unfamiliar airline again.
