I've been looking into the overnight Artesia train from Paris to Venice for the three of us at the end of March. The fare for a T3 sleeper compartment for a 13 hour train ride is substantially higher than an advance purchase Easyjet ticket, even with that airlines notorious add-on charges. I'd like to experience the train, but not for an extra 200 euro.
You save a hotel night and the trip to the airport in both cities. Traveling by night train and by plane are totally different experiences.
