I had the same problem 2 years in a row where
they reset my account when I was within 200 miles or so of reaching the 10K limit. The way I see it, I earned those upgrades and the March 1 is a random cutoff to strip me of those upgrades. I don't think it makes sense if you are continuing this year as an elite.
So, I called and told them so (actually asked for a supervisor and insisted on fixing it). Insist long enough and you get somewhere - I was offered 2 'comp' upgrades last year. This time I refused and held out for all 4, which they eventually gave.
I was Platinum since '98 and EP since
Nov '99.
