I strongly suspect this is because they didn't pack it correctly. If you take care to put the heaviest items towards the bottom and back of the case, it will not tip. Whereas, if you insert a heavy toiletry case as the last thing and on top (as many people do without thinking much about it), it will tip.
That said, when I use the extension feet on the Plat5 it won't tip even if not optimally loaded.

My last bag, any other bag I've owned, nor any of my friends had a falling problem. None us have ever given a **** about weight placement in the bag, nor should we. The problem isn't with the packing, it's with the placement of the wheels and front supports. I suspect they aren't far enough apart and the front support is too tall relative to the wheel height. It's poor design plain and simple.
