I guess I've just always been lucky, but after dozens of rentals have never been in this situation. It sounds like the owners are maybe new at this and a bit over the top in terms of concern.
However, advise to contact an attorney over a 10 day rental seems a bit extreme. Just be out of there and be sure you get your deposit back. Then report them to the agency.
In my experiences:
to my knowledge no owner has ever set foot in the place while we were there.
one owner left a note to "please water the plants on Wednesday" which I did.
one owner left instructions to not answer the phone if it rang that it would go into a service.
one owner left a message one day asking "we left a bottle in the closet that we need" if you woulnd't mind just leave it in the hallway outside the door and we'll pick it up" (they lived right upstairs). Done with pleasure.
this same owner who lived upstairs greeted us, handed us the keys and pretty much said "you're adults and know how to reach me if you need me". No endless list of rules and regulations. Really appreciated. She knocked on our door the last evening just to say goodbye and to ask how we enjoyed our stay. A pleasure all the way around.
most contracts (when there was one) do have a clause about the owner having access rights if necessary and/or to confirm occupancy. No one ever has.
in some cases I've never laid eyes on anyone. They give me instructions for finding the keys - the best arrangements include things like the keys being inside a lockbox that they give me the combination for, and then instructions for what to do when I leave.
