The Condor flight (the charter) flew us FRA - OSL - TLS - FRA. i.e. Start and end points were the same. Logistically we need same for MegaDo II - a charter needs to start / end in the same airport.
Outside that of course, we need flights from wherever to the starting point of the charter (VIE).
I concur that VIE is not much of a hub so we could switch to ZRH instead if it's more convenient for the majority of the gang. For North Americans though, I don't think it's difficult to get from VIE to YYZ / JFK / ORD. Similarly I think most Europeans can get to VIE easily enough.
At the same time though, this is European-centric. If the goal is to get to Boeing, the Pacific rim makes a lot of sense too but pricing / timing remain obvious issues.
