Ouch. Do you have any idea who is doing baggage handling in ATL on behalf of LH? That's where I'd start from. I'd ask about their procedures, whether they have barcode scanning system (even in 2010 not all airlines have those) Of course, LH is legally responsible for those. After 2 days not in the system I would be equally concerned.

Also, if you want to ask Michelle something make sure you post your question in her thread.
