got to lhr on 9th jan.. 6.45 a.m 3 bags arrive... smaller one not there.. airport in chaos..as ba had cancelled all flights (inc mine)... the only chance I had to get wheelchair bound daughter home with sufficient meds etc..I had to leave after 2 hrs.. e mailed in ref bag delay... repeated that again from home..still havent been sent a file number..I have been given 3 phone numbers and have been trying them for 3 days..only answer machine.. I have been quoting my bagage tag number for reference, with flight and all my contact details (home number/cell and e-mail) the operations room said it was chaotic and give it a couple of days... tried phoning continental in the us...just to see where thebag was.. they confirm bag has now been scanned in at at heathrow..bag definitely there.. but I cant get hold of baggage handlers.. tried the phone nos 6a.m to midnight.. periodically..sent repeat forms.. no response..I am a 5hr drive (cant be done in this snow..) a 1 hr flight (but none running..) or a rail journey which would cost more than the bag value.. (they can charge as no one can travel any other way!!) any suggestions.. continental said they knew they were running behind on e-mails?? I dont mind paying to get the bag back via rail or mail..its only small but has daughters precious shoe collection in and a fold up walking stick.. panicking.. how long will they hold them to either allow me to get there.. or any ideas of who to try calling next?? dont know anyone in london who could get it for me...any advice appreciated
wish I had taken the bump on co28 on 9th.. maybe I wouldnt be in this situation.. but daughter and friend were in bf on reward ticket .. so they wouldnt bump them.. sadly had to pas up the chance!!! oh well lets see if we can atleast recue the shoes!!! Gwen
