Hi Jim,
The KTM site doesn't show these local trains, except on an obscure page that takes even me ages to find it each time. The times have changed since my last update so don't 100% rely on the Jungle Line timetable shown on my site, and they'll change again on 15 Jan, which is why I'm waiting till then to do my next Jungle Line update, but as far as I know these local trains are still running in some shape or form or other!

I don't think it's unusual for 3rd class trains in Southeast Asia to be unavailable for booking online.
