If that's the case, and if hotels are legally required to support the local police vice unit's work by attempting to identify and expel prostitutes, then they should put a uniform process in place to ensure that all guests on the property are authorized to be there.
If some hotel rent-a-thug randomly challenged my wife's authority to be with me, I'm not 100% sure I'd be able to follow the good advice given here - a calm, non-confrontational discussion with the manager - even though I agree it's the best approach.
