Wow!!! I got the platinum Amex on 12/28 and used it right away with the number they provided me. I booked my next flight on Delta and today the 15,000 bonus miles AND the 5,000 MQMs!!! Most of the folks I talked to said not to hold my breath on this as a last-minute strategy to make platinum so I was not encouraged, but today is a good day!
