You can talk to the hotel manager but if it was me, i would insist on some form of compensation whether in terms of points or credits towards the room.

The truth is, sex tourism is a big problem in SE Asia and it is laudable that the hotel is trying to do something about it. OK, they made a mistake on this occasion, but isn't that a price worth paying for a country to try to reclaim its dignity and protect its vulnerable population?
BTW - having just returned from that part of the world, I'd suggest that if the worst thing that happens to the OP was being mistaken for a sex-tourist then he has had quite an uneventful time.
