I don't think AA will comp to Plat Executive.

I am a Platinum and I have upgraded virtually 100% of the time. Occasionally I have to take a slightly different flight but I always upgrade. AA has expanded FC sections on their equipment and it makes a real difference.

Of course, US has a better route structure along the east coast.
