Hi, everyone... a little advice needed.

I arrived yesterday in Frankfurt from Atlanta. No changing planes, no connections. But they couldn't offload the luggage from the plane (it was an apron arrival) because apparently the friendly scissor-lift drivers at FRA crashed four of the things and there weren't enough to go around to unload the containers in a timely way (we waited around for 1.5 hours -- no luggage).

Anyway, the lost luggage desk at Frankfurt made me fill out a form and give it to them, but I (stupidly) did not get a tracking number from them. They probably would not have given it to me, as the line was about 10 deep, but...

More than 18 hours later, my luggage is apparently still not in the system. No sign of it whatsoever.

I didn't request compensation at the airport, but it is starting to get a bit ridiculous.

A) Am I entitled to any compensation? 3 bags for 4 people, lots of clothes, etc.

B) Any suggestions on getting a reference number out of FRA?
