It is stupid policies that prevent through ticketing and force all the risk onto passenger, together with lack of customer support, that is driving people onto the alternatives.
I wonder how much longer QF25/26 will last before they too will be pulled?
Agreed! Also why would Americans who already spend a lot of money ever want to fly Qantas after being forced to spend 7k to get home. I understand this is their policy, how ever, I am sure there are empty seats on other flights to get back to the States, either via Australia or New Zealand. Now the people that were treated this way, are going to tell their friends that when planning a Australian or New Zealand holiday, don't fly Qantas for Jet star. For the average family, 7k is a lot of money. They are already spending that to get down here.
Also when using FF miles, to get down here, I don't think we even have an option to buy inter New Zealand or Australian flights (at least that I am aware of, maybe I am wrong) that are on the same ticket.
Now if Qantas put them on another flight, I am sure the traveler would be so happy, they would tell their friends to fly Qantas.
