Although Bali is far from the best place in Asia for beaches, it is an amazing place. Especially inland near Ubud, there are beautiful places to stay and visit with wonderful views over rivers and rice terraces towards volcanoes. Then theres the people and their culture!
You could combine this with a couple of days on a beach and as others have rightly said, Kuta is not the place to go. Sanur has a nice mix of beach,some nightlife and artistic community. The east and north coast has more remote beaches with some lovely places to stay,in every price bracket.
IMHO go for Bali alone and leave Singapore for another time.
