Bonus Miles Posted - MQM's AWOL
My wife had crossed a necessary AMEX Plat Res spending threshold (fully recognized by AMEX) in 2009. She even had her Bonus Miles (15,000) posted on her Skymiles account on the statement date of her card (early 2010). The problem is that we can go to the Delta.com/deltareservemqm webpage to claim the 2009 earned MQM's for her account and she is getting the message that she hasn't crossed the spending threshold. It is important to note that she DID get the bonus miles that go along with crossing the spending thresholds.
AMEX says they have notified DL of meeting the threshold. This is supported by the fact that DL has posted the bonus miles. The real problems when you call DL Skymiles and try to get some help in getting the MQM's. I don't think any of the employees over there have any clue about what is going on with the program. When told of the situation, the best they can do is throw out a few red herrings and start off in irrelevant directions. It's as if they aren't listening to a thing that has been said. She has talked to about five or six different reps and they have all been clueless. It's really sad when they have a program that they spend major dollars advertising and promoting and then they don't have a single employee that they'll let you talk to that can speak with a minor degree of intelligence about the benefits of the program. It's really frustrating to spend the $$'s that it takes to get this card (for the benefits) and then they screw it up like they do.
DL - is anybody listening? We get the card and are motivated to be loyal DL customers, but when you have to waste time educating and reeducating their employees about the program that hooks us into spending marginally higher $$'s to fly DL and be loyal, we find it might not be worth it. We often fly DL when AirTran would be cheaper and would perhaps be more convenient to our schedule.
She's not asking for anything special, she just wants to get the MQM's that she's paid for and earned. She would really like to get the MQM's posted to her 2009 register since that the year that she's earned them. It is well documented in the program that the spending is related to calendar year spending. It seems reasonable that she gets the MQM's in the year she's earned them. I'm really concerned that if she eventually gets them then she'll only get them in 2010 and that they will prohibit her from earning but one more mileage boost in the year.
Any suggestions about who to contact at DL to reach a solution to the problem? I would really like to communicate with someone that has a decent knowledge of the program and can understand what the problem is.
