Let me get this straight. There are two FC seats left on your flight three days from now and as a Gold you want to complain that US will not give you one on your coach fare?

Preferred upgrades are always on a space-available basis and US is very prudent to hold these seats until the last minute. A lot of business travel is paid for last minute so the CP who gets to work tomorrow (Mon) and finds he need to be on your flight on Wednesday may end up paying for a FC seat or paying full-Y fare which would (rightly) give them the FC seat over those Preferreds sitting on the waitlist for an upgrade. Just because it is there for sale has NEVER meant it was an upgradable seat for a Preferred member.
