Just remember that when you want to book your tickets, you can only reserve 330 days in advance of the LAST flight you will be taking in your round trip. Thus, if you are leaving on August 1 and returning August 10, they will not be able to give you your reservations for the return trip until 330 days from August 10. One trick I have sometimes used to avoid that, though, is to call and reserve on the 330th day from the flight out, with an immediate flight back, and then call a couple of days later to change the flight back to the day I want, once it is in the system 330 days out. The airlines usually have a good period of time before you actually have to ticket the FF awards, after which you pay the $50 or $75 charge for reticketing. Worked when I did that on Delta to Hawaii with 3 FF tickets.

That's my two cents worth.
