Having said that... might I just gently suggest that (once again?) your perhaps mistaken expectations have made this latest experience worse than it needed to be?

You seem to be saying that the Jetstar flight was a separate ticket?

Well then... as I'm sure you already know... there is a risk inherent in that....and it jumped up and bit you.... right on the bum.

Thank goodness for Travel Insurance indeed.... and while the criticism of Jetstar is no doubt warranted.. one wonders what (apart from NOT going much further than required) QF really did wrong there....

I am not aware of ANY airline that has a policy of correcting other carriers screw ups on separate itineraries...

Still.. glad it all worked out eventually...
