Neyoisles is right, this is usually the procedure. Premier Exectutive is United's second highest level with 100% bonus miles, and is usually given for 50,000 actual airmiles in a calendar year. I have never heard of United giving away United's highest level (1K) to anyone. That level has to be earned with 100,000 actual miles a year.
