Yes, I plan to use it in DEL, MAA & CCU on my next trip; perhaps also in BOM on future trips. But I also plan to visit (later this month) places like Raipur in Madhya Pradesh and do some train travel in Central India. Not to discourage you, but just FYI, from my experience with Airtel, the signal can switch pretty rapidly when you're trying to use the internet in a train/bus/car. It can go from EDGE to slow to nothing and back, and it usually happens at the worst possible times
It's a great technology for city hopping trips (when you're within city limits), but I don't think the technology is quite there yet for rural.
I could be wrong, though, and Reliance and TATA could have great EDGE coverage. I haven't tried them, so maybe others who have will give their input.
