Issue with Liquids in *Checked baggage*

While flying in to EWR in a US Airways domestic flight from MCO yesterday, I was called back to the check in counter, only to be told that they need the keys to my already checked-in suitcase as TSA wants to open it. There was only a bottle of Perfume, but I appreciated the security and also the chance given to my by TSA to hand in the keys to avoid breaking the locks.

However, I was told by the check in agent that all international flights out of JFK were being screened for liquids in the checked luggage and any liquids in international flights out of JFK may have to be thrown out. This was in response to the recent events.

I doubt this very much, but any other FT member hear anything like this out of JFK, especially flying on BA? I fly out of JFK two days later to LHR!
