3G 850/1900/2100 vs. 3G 900/1900/2100?

I'm considering buying an unlocked Nokia E75 for non-North America use (mostly Europe). It's available in a 850/1900/2100 US version and a 900/1900/2100 non-US version. I know from the posts on this forum that ATT is using the 850/1900 3G frequencies, but I haven't seen any mention of the 900 frequency being used for 3G. Who's using it, and where? If nobody is using it, I'm thinking I might as well buy the US version and have the domestic 3G frequencies, even though I'll rarely use the phone in the US.
Many thanks in advance!
