Sorry, forgot one important fact. Some coach fares automatically qualify for upgrade on DL on certain routes. Had this happen last week when on an AA fare. The surprizing thing is I changed ticket after first city(DFW) to avoid whole new ticketing and only pay $75 vs $400+. Even with less than 48 hours notice they upgraded me on a 737 with that fare!
