Couldn't agree more. Phone (BB), Laptop (USB Modem) and now this with a data plan. I love Apple as much as the next person, but this would be getting a little ridiculous (for me, FWIW). Depending on the feature set, if it worked with my USB Modem, I'd consider giving it a go as a replacement to my now aging Mac Laptop. Although, relying less and less on the Mac Laptop as my everyday, main, hump around computer and buying a cheap netbook which does the basics (and is easier on my shoulder/back) is an alternative.

On the flip side, if they do sell it "locked" to a mobile provider then who? Would AT&T sign on for yet another device that - at least according to the MSM - is sucking the life out of the AT&T network? Verizon - great but what about international? T-Mobile - I use them and have only very rarely had an issue with coverage and speed but there seems to be a semi-pro cadre of people out there who tell me I'm wrong. Sprint - that'd be interesting (perhaps in a Kindle sort of no-fee way).

This actually may be one of the live product announcement blogs I actually watch, read, whatever.

All I know is, based on Mossberg's review of the Nexus One (where he says he's been testing one for weeks), someone out there has a prototype and is testing it. Certainly would be nifty to see/touch/try one.
