I definitely prefer AF whether in Y or C. But it's not that huge a difference.
Last time I travelled in Y to Asia (China) they served Champagne with the meal. After meal service there is no more Champagne available to Y passengers unless there is some left over part of a bottle which is then available with the fruit juices, water etc on a help-yourself basis. Once that has been drunk, no more is openend

So get plenty when you're eating, then make a fast move on the self service area to mop up what's left

ref OP, in Y I would go with AF, better food and better IFE. In J I think KL edges it due to easier t/f in AMS but for me it would boil down to connection times AMS v CDG
