I find the quality sufficient for 'free' food but it's not great, especially what's on the buffet.

I think it tends to get dry or soggy (whichever works worse for the particular item!) while it's on the heated buffet. Mushroom stroganoff used to work quite well on the buffet because it was OK once you stirred it, but individual servings of needles in black bean sauce often have soggy noodles or dry noodles, and sometimes pies, while I like them, can be rather dry.

I don't really care for mini burgers so I usually pass on that. Banger and mash can look like mash bit isn't really great.

Also, breakfast time seems to sometimes drag on a bit. I quite like the breakfast food at GF (black pudding is not something I can get here, although it's a bit of an offal central here) but I don't want to eat breakfast a few times if I'd been there for too long.

Bacons taste OK to me at GF though.

Hence my 'sushi from Itsu' idea. Just to eat something a bit different if I am there for some time.
