Couple more questions:

Since the new Y seat doesn't recline, do you still need to adjust your seat to upright position during take off and landing?

If the reclining is done by sliding the seat cushion forward, does it decrease the leg room?

Do you sleep better or worst with the new Y seat?

Do you think the new Y seat is the worst design ever in airlines industries?
This is no doubt the worst Y. One might think they have designed for the small asians but I think its more because the CX design team members are very short and small built. Im the new generation of Hk Chinese who are taller and bigger. Im 6'3 and there are plenty of Hk people these days who are of my height. The new Y seat locks me into unmoveable position. You also do not have a seat pocket in front of you. Its hard to describe but it is now just a few elastics holding the emergency card. There is no space to hold my ipod, book, boarding pass.

CX new J is no better. The herringbone is like an animal getting into an abattoir. The end of the seat is trianglar. For someone who is tall like myself, I find one of my feet dangling in mid-air when lying flat.

I no longer fly CX unless I have to.
