I would have insisted that they take the window and middle, and leave
me the aisle.

This isn't as bad as the lady who was sitting in D (I was sitting in C) and saw me texting. She said "I need to use that phone right now," and what could I do? She knew I had it. She had 7 kids at home and the plane had been delayed and she had to call the sitter. I mean, I felt bad, but it was a LAX-YYZ phone call and I'm pay-as-you-go, so quite costly.
Huh? She insisted on using YOUR cell phone? She couldn't wait 5 minutes and call from a pay phone in the terminal once she got off the plane?
Or, if this was before dpearture, you could have pointed out the phones
at the seats which work very well with a credit card.
