I'm batting 0 for 1 in disputes---called to cancel an overseas hotel reservation the day before arrival. No agent was available, so I called Diners to put a notation in my file that I had called Diners 24 hours in advance to dispute any possible charge.
After I was billed for a non-show, I called Diners to check the notation that I had called DC the day before arrival to forestall any dispute. DC said they would check into it---they called later and said that since I did not have a "cancellation number", I was responsible for the charge!
Not a happy camper here!
