I didn't realize this could go as far as dealing with their merchant bank. I hope it does. I didn't sign anything.

I have had other charge disputes, through the years, both with MBNA mastercard, and First USA visa, and had no proplem having them credit back the money to me. Most of those disputes were non-delivery of merchandise.

What gets me is the negative attitude of Diner'customer service personel, even before it went to the dispute department. Up until now I only have had praise for the fast, efficient, and friendly service.

1. My favorite response is I had one tell me that this is not even "disputable" and I still had the value of the ticket I didn't use, so what is the problem. When I stated again I only wanted what NWA agreed to do, she said "you aren't listening to me and gently scolded me for not paying attention to what she said".

2. When I called to ask if they had gotten my "faxed" formal dispute letter, another agent said that faxing wasn't permissible, because they had to have a "real" signature.
I read to them their own letter that suggested faxing it for faster service. She said call back in a week to see if they had received it. She said there was only one person in the entire department that received the faxes and that they were at leaast a week behind.
It had already been a week, and their was no notation on my file, of getting my fax, and no one in "disputes was available"

3. Another agent, repeated sorry, we can do nothing because NWA had a right to charge me the full a amount, because that was NWA's regulations. And again, I still had the value of ticket, so had no reason to dispute.

4. Another said, since I had "no documented proof" from NWA that what I said happened, nothing could be done.

5. Two agents said "the temporary credit to my account" was for 30 DAYS only and that after that I was responsible to pay the entire bill.

If I didn't already know my rights to dispute the matter, I would have given up long ago.

This is so stupid, for this "little amount", Diner's is making me feel like I am trying to defraud both them and NWA out of what is rightfully theirs. I had expected professonal service, not misinformation.

I will get back, when I get a final resolution.
Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
