Amex definitely understands that Centurion cardholders might also have other Amex cards and prefer to use them. Although I believe things like the special unannounced gifts they send out are based on Centurion spend only, they do go out of their way to make the other cards a better experience for Centurion cardholders.

For example, I have an SPG as well as HHonors Surpass Amex cards in addition to Centurion. If I call the regular customer service number on the back of the SPG or HHonors card and put in that account number, I don't speak to the normal SPG or HHonors customer service, but instead get immediately transferred to Centurion customer service who then provides service for the non-Centurion card. Amex went to a lot of trouble to make this happen, and they wouldn't have done so if they wanted to discourage Centurion cardholders from also having and using other Amex products.
