Typhoid Shot and travel to Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has traveled to Cambodia, Laos and Southern Vietnam without a typhoid vaccine? My husband and I are trying to conceive and I have read so many things advising us to wait three months from when I would get the vaccine. We will be traveling for about 3 weeks---spending most of the time in big cities but sometimes in smaller places. I plan on bringing hand sanitizer, wipes, being very careful about where I eat (bringing power bars and having bananas and other fruits you can peel when I am not sure of the food).
I have spoken to a few doctors and they have said if I am really careful and am mainly in big cities I should be okay... But I would love to hear from people who travel frequently to these countries--their experiences and advice.
Some part of me says to just take the vaccine and then wait three months, but I actually had a miscarriage in late November and booked this trip one week ago as a last minute amazing fun vacation before we hopefully get pregnant again trip...and for others in our situation, I am sure you can understand that three months seems like a very long time, when we already have been waiting for three months now.
Thanks,
