I had one leg of a YVR-BOM-YVR flight in the new seat last year. It was the most uncomfortable I have ever been on an airplane. The seat slides forward and you are left in a slump position with no lumbar support, knees against the shell of the seat in front, and your head vertical. We boarded at Mumbai at 3am, or so, and I was very tired and couldn't keep my head up so wound up with terrible neck pain (as well as lower back pain). I spent much of the 6 hour flight pacing the aisles and it was obvious that many others were in similar discomfort. The 'normal' cramped economy seats on the following HKG-YVR leg seemed wonderful in comparison. (BTW I'm 5' 10)

I wrote CX a note after returning home to give my opinion of the seat and to say that if that was to be the new standard Y seat, I wouldn't be flying with them again. The reply indicated that I was not the first to offer such comment and they hoped to be able to make some (minor) adjustments to improve the situation. I don't know how that worked out as I flew BA Y+ to BOM this year.
