That is what they say, but it would be stupid of them
not to save the photos. Suppose a plane goes blooie. If I were DHS I'd want to go back through all related evidence, including WBI and bag x-ray, to see if there was anything of forensic interest.
Oh, wait, they don't save the x-ray images either. . .
