Not impossible. You'll just rarely ever see it available, and practically impossible on all routes from the US except the occasional premium seat on JFK-FRA.
I'm pretty certain that long-haul ANA C or F is impossible to see through ANA, not because it's not available but because SQ is blocking out ANA. I just made a topic in the SQ forum with that topic and why I think so:
