The rule of thumb is that if you have paid cash to sit in Club, you will earn the Club miles and TPs (i.e. buying a ticket outright, upgrading sector/s pre-purchase, upgrading through MMB, pro-active upgrades at OLCI etc)

If you haven't paid cash, i.e. if you have upgraded using miles or have been upgraded involuntarily then you won't get Club points/miles.
