Looked at the Japanese JMB page and it looks like the "forward seats" are indeed seats located near the front of the aircraft. I guess the "elite benefit" is the assignment on a "priority basis", though I don't know if that means non-elites will be booted out of their seats if all forward seats have already been assigned.
