I did not realize that. I thought that the $200 in Amtrak travel had to post to the cardholder's AGR account in order to permit the cardholder to transfer AGR points out. In any event, I don't think that the credit-card route is a viable one for the OP: If he does not achieve at least AGR Select status, he would be limited to transferring out a maximum of 25,000 AGR points to Choice, which in turn would only yield something like 14,000 AAdvantage miles. Unless the OP already has a stash of at least 26,000 AAdvantage miles, the added 14,000 would not be enough to get him to Paris.
Let's hope that the OP can cancel the transfer from CO to AGR.
