You are right it does, but the crime rate is out of control. Other cities are reducing crime, but it runs rampant in Baltimore. Yes, Federal Hill is a nice area too, and I do appreciate the cultural opportunities, but after treating scores and scores of tourists and visitors that were shot, stabbed or raped, sorry, not into it.
But have you also worked in ERs in other big cities? I certainly don't doubt that you saw and treated a large number of crime victims during your time in Baltimore, but how about in other areas?
