Not being a driver I was a bit wary of them as well.
The wife despite being a driver for many years had never used a self service pump before she came to the UK. So when we hired a car it was left to me to fill it up.......big queue of cars built up behind as I tried to fathom out how to work it.
Still no self service pumps here in Argentina that I've seen.
