Key is # 14 of terms and conditions
we registered on December 5, 2009 assuming that we would attain Premier status by December 19 as per terms and condition #3, and booked a qualifying flight from denver to las vegas January 1 to January 4. Ticket was purchased with the signature card from the offer. Kept checking no upgrade. Got to airport and requested premier upgrade again and were told that we were still not in the system as premier. After several hoops a senior United agent finally bypassed the system and upgraded us for the flight only. She told us that we had to call Mileage Plus to assure that we would be premier on the return flight. I checked with Mileage Plus this morning and was on the phone for a good hour. They said that management has reversed the offer to state that the premier status would only be reflected 14 days after January 1, and not 14 days after registration as previously stated in the offer. There was no arguing the point since the supervisor continually pointed out condition #14. Offer subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply. She kept saying: My job is to report only what management decides. I finally told her that my job is also to report what the customer decides. This does not make me want to use visa, united and definitely not MILEAGE PLUS. bummer.
