Consolidate or No?
For the last few years, I've been averaging about 120K miles, about 90% domestic.
I live in PHL, so I'm pretty married to US, obviously.
For the first two years I was in this job, I was working for a client in a city ONLY served by NWA, so I became Silver in WP while maintaining US Gold and US Platinum.
First off - and I know I may be the only one - but I LOVED NWA. Plus I had about an 80% upgrade clearance rate - at Silver.
Anyway, I was wondering about relative merits of maintaining loyalty to two families (Sky Team vs. Star).
One benefit is, when I *am* in those one-horse cities, having status with NW/DL is helpful getting to the front of any list when flights are missed/cancelled.
Plus, the DL nee NW lounge at MSP C12 is very nice.
One drawback is, I am always short of making US Chairman's.
I'd like to entertain any discussion from folks who split loyalties, or have consolidated and find themselves "out of network".
I am NOT entertaining pitches on why I should choose one particular program over another, please.
(I'm asking now because I have a bunch of trips to SLC planned - and I'm debating how to book!)
