I used to fly IAH-YYZ-YUL, IAH-YYC, and YUL-YYC regularly. AC service was indifferent at best and appalling at worst. Domestic AC was far worse than international (monopolies tend to do that). Not to mention the ludicrously high ticket prices and awful FF program (easy elite status, sure, but it's not worth anything- worthless upgrade certs and indifferent lounge staff) (actually, we used to joke in the AC forum that the upgrade certs were only useful for bathroom wallpaper)

I was ecstatic when I no longer needed to fly within canada and could switch all my flying to a US carrier.
